Studio/Edit Suite

To ensure that our customers get the very best sound quality possible, Brown Media maintains a fully state-of-the-art recording studio and post-production editing suite for both audio and video work.

Voice overs are recorded in an acoustically-treated room using a Neumann TLM-103 microphone powered by the acclaimed Avalon VT-737sp tube preamp to capture a nice warm sound. We also sometimes use a Sennheiser MKH416 mic, often referred to as "the Hollywood mic." In addition, we have various other microphones available for certain projects that demand a somewhat different sound.

Dry voice tracks are recorded into either Pro Tools or Sony Sound Forge.

All audio production is edited and mixed in Pro Tools, the acknowledged industry standard for post-production audio. We maintain a massive library of RTAS plug-ins for Pro Tools, including virtually all of the plug-ins available from Waves. Plus, an impressive library of music beds and sound effects are available for any conceivable production needs you might have. In addition, we will occasionally create original, custom music beds tailored to your specific needs using virtual instruments and MIDI sequencing.

On the video side, once again we use only the industry-standard gear, including Avid for all video editing, while compositing is performed using either Boris Red or After Effects. The complete library of Gen Arts Sapphire plug-in effects are also available, as well as Boris Continuum Complete for AVX. We use ARRI professional video lighting, and have a studio to perform green screen work.
